I put in my notice to Brian (our Kitchen Manager) last night at work that was done after this week. I noted that it was mostly Captain Braceface's fault and that I wouldn't slack off or anything. I knew we were short-staffed a bit this week and I wanted those last few hours so I could have a fairly nice paycheck before I find a new job.
Brian was upset but he understood. He decided not to tell Braceface until today that I was quitting. Bad idea.
Braceface took me off the schedule, siting that people who are getting ready to quit would slack off in their job.
If it hadn't been for the fact that I just woke up, I would've ran down to Beefs and started yelling my head off at Braceface.
I worked there for six months, and rarely complained loud enough for the management to hear. I worked hard for shitty pay and I even took on being the Shift Leader for a week just to see if it was worth it. I have only needed to be disciplined once, and that was just a light warning.
I am going to ask that none of my users go to the Beef O Brady's in Muncie anymore. Of course, I can't make anyone do so since Joey still works there but, hopefully, he'll see my realization and get out of that hole before it's too late.
So it looks like my weekend is free for the moment...
