I'm A Total Nerd

Friday May 8th, 2009. Guess where I'm going to be?

That's right, at the mother fucking movie theater. I will probably take the entire day off and blow over 40 bucks to see this movie more than once in one day.

Two weeks ago I went to the latest Bond film "Quantum of Solace"... except, the movie was more like a bonus. My real reason was to see the latest trailer for Star Trek.

As soon as I saw the first few frames of the trailer (which I automatically recognized from reading spoilers about how the trailer started), my ass was on the edge of my seat and my jaw was heading in a downward direction.

It was so great to finally see some of this revitalized Trek in motion. I was so jazzed that I didn't give two shits about the other trailers that played before the movie. I almost jumped up and yelled for the theater people to play the Trek trailer again.

Sure, there will be more spoilers and trailers to come, but 6 months is still a long time for a die-hard Trek fan like me to wait for a movie like this. (Let's face it, "Nemesis" did suck balls. And I was 18 when that came out. By the time JJ Abrams' version hits the screen, I'll have waited six-and-a-half YEARS for a new Star Trek movie. ALSO way too long.)

If you haven't seen the trailer, go check it out on You Tube, or in HD at Apple's website. Even if you aren't a Trek fan, you'll still enjoy what the movie brings to the table.

And if you ARE a Trek fan, then you and me can have a chat about why the HELL the Enterprise isn't being built in space... let alone in IOWA! (JJ... let's try not to throw canon out the window too much in the movie, okay?)
