Alrighty then...
I figured since it's been about 2 months since I've done a real blog entry, I'd treat my readers to an update about my life. I'd been waiting for something pretty awesome to happen for my 450th entry... but, alas, there really hasn't been anything HUGE. So, on with the update.
WORK
---
The radio station has gone through a few personnel changes since August. Our Program Director left and I was pressed into service as the interim Mid-Day DJ. So, from 10 to 3, you can hear me on East Central Indiana's Country Station.
It's been a blessing and a burden over the past few weeks. I'm finally getting into a groove after a slightly shaky start. Also, it's cool that my friends listen to me during the day. They say it's like knowing someone famous...
Me? Famous? Nah.
Other than that, I've also been busy making commercials as usual. The sales people have been selling like crazy... which would've been fine if I wasn't trying to do two jobs at the same time. Oh well, I'm making a bit more money now too, so it's all good.
PLAY
---
I went to see Journey a few weeks ago. It was awesome. I'll definitely have to go see some more concerts next summer.
Speaking of music, I found a website that is really cool. You can search for playlists of music you like or make your own. Check it out here.
In sports news:
The Cubs clinched the NL Central and home field advantage throughout. I don't want to jinx it, but the way the Cubs played this season, I wouldn't be surprised if we got to a certain "series" that the entire "world" will be watching!
Unfortunately, the Colts have had a bit rougher start. I actually went to the Jacksonville game at Lucas Oil Stadium. Even though the game could've been better, the stadium is actually very impressive. My Dad has tickets for when the Patriots come to town... so that should be a lot of fun.
One football team has me very happy right now, though. The Ball State Cardinals! I went to the season opener and was impressed. I was at the game where they beat Navy and was VERY impressed. I watched them beat IU, even though they lost their star receiver for the year. And, just yesterday, I saw them get to 5-0 at a very fun Homecoming game.
Yet, I did sacrifice my body for the sake of cheering on my Alma mater. I neglected to wear sun screen and now have a nice burn on my left arm and the left side of my face... ouch.
FRIENDS
---
This weekend was a fun one when it comes to friends. My best friend Dan came up for a bit, and of course Rob came up for the game. I got to hang out with Ryan too.
Ryan is about three weeks from leaving the Hoosier state for warmer climates... Florida to be precise. He's having a going away party that should be a lot of fun. (Even though we can't play Beer Pong at his parent's house... which is my fault. Ha ha.)
I've made some new friends too, which is cool. But, this wasn't the best weekend when it comes to friendships either.
LOVE LIFE
---
Lindsay and I are done.
It doesn't help that I acted like a jerk, but I think that was just the surface of the problem. Even though we had fun, I think I knew it wasn't going to go anywhere. We don't have much in common or keep similar schedules. Also, I think we tried to force something that wasn't really there. (This was especially true over the summer.)
The relationship, if you can call it that, was fun while it lasted. But, I think I need to find someone I connect with a lot better. Whether I find that person here in Muncie (or Indiana at all) is questionable. Not that I don't plan on being here for a little while longer, but there's more money to be made in radio in bigger markets. Something tells me I'll find someone more my "style" away from here.
Well, that's pretty much it. I'll try to blog more often from now on, but I can't promise anything.
Just stay tuned...
