One Hell of a Weekend pt. 1

I've been sitting at this screen for literally five minutes trying to figure out the words to describe this weekend. In the span of 72 hours I have gone from poor college student to semi-employed college graduate. But that's just the tip of the iceburg of what went on. I suppose we can start with Friday.

Since I was so excited to be done with Finals, I didn't sleep as late as planned. So I woke up at around 8:30 and just did nothing for a few hours to kill time before my Noon exam in COMM 320.

I took my exam in about half-an-hour. Though I knew I didn't get an A, I don't really need one. That class has been one of the easiest of my college career. In other words: I win.

After that, it was another round of nothing. I did go to Taco Bell, which is going to be closing while they move to their new location closer to my apartment. Starting Wednesday I won't have to go as far to get my pseudo-Mexican diarrhea-inducing eats. Which is good since gas prices are once again uber insane.

Later, my parents and brother came up and we went to Outback Steakhouse. Thankfully we had called for a reservation because the place was packed. And not just packed; packed with rednecks. If Wal-Mart is the center of redneck commerce, then Outback is what they consider "classy dining".

Once done with dinner, I hung out with my sister for a bit. We hadn't gotten to see each other much this semester, so it was nice to just chill and make fun of people on TV. Actually, the person to make fun of would've been me. We were watching that karaoke game show with Wayne Brady and I was going nuts singing the songs. I have vowed that with a few weeks of practice, I could go on that show and win a million dollars.

So once my interest in that show ran dry, I went to Rob and Zach's to celebrate their birthdays. Much beer was imbibed and I got to see a few old friends from High School.

Problem was, I stayed out a little later than anticipated...

I got back to my apartment and thought I set my alarm clock for 6:40am because we had all planned to go to breakfast at 7:30. Of course, I get a call from my sister at 7:20 wondering where the crap I was.

I think I literally turned into a bolt of lightning because it only took me ten minutes to shower, brush my teeth, and get into my formal attire. I was impressed. Then I got to IHOP only about ten minutes late. Once I arrived, the theme immediately became my lack of time pieces.

I left early to head back and pack a few things before heading to Worthen arena to line up. That was so BORING. I stood around for almost an hour in my cap and gown just waiting to be ushered onto the floor... where I had to stand EVEN MORE until the guy said we could sit down.

After all that waiting and hard work, it was finally time to graduate.
