Pirates 3

Yeah, I went and saw the first movie I want to see for the summer earlier today. Pirates of the Carribean: At Worlds End.

Pro: The movie was way better than the second. I felt more down with the characters and knew who I wanted to win... until the end.

Con: This flick was pretty damn confusing. I remember telling Ashley (whom accompanied me to the theatre) that I could've used a flow chart to help me understand what was happening. Certain elements weren't explained very well and when explanations were attempted, they were short and not very helpful. The plot just seemed to be all over the place and some of the characters who were built up through the movie just faded away in the end.

Pro: Jack Sparrow was freakin' funny as usual. Not as many one-liners as I would've liked, but still awesome.

Con: Too much Elizibeth Swan. Don't get me wrong, Kiera Knightly is freakin' hot. However, her role in this one was overdone in my opinion.

Pro: Good actions sequences. Especially in the end. I was on the edge of my seat for the last half hour.

Con: It was too long! Seriously, 2 hours and 45 minutes seemed too much for this movie. The second movie should've been enough exposistion for the third, but it seemed like the second movie's plot rolled over too much into the third one. This is difficult to explain, so you should probably go see the movie to try and figure out what I'm saying.

Pro: Umm... the monkey gets shot out of a cannon.

Con: The pre-teen girls sitting behind us in the theater. I know that has nothing to do with the movie itself, but I think it directly affects how I viewed the picture. It seemed they were laughing at the most inappropriate times, like whenever Orlando Bloom/Blume was on screen, or when Turner and Swan were getting done doin' it. They just giggled WAY too much and almost gave me a rash. I probably should've thrown my shoe at them and screamed profanity-laden slurs about thier mothers.

Pro: Uh... did I mention the monkey?

Pro/Con: The ending is pretty funny, and I thought it was a good way to wrap up the series. However, it'll be sad to never see Jack Sparrow in any more movies. Sadface.


So, my final grade for Pirates 3: Meh.

I'll probably always like The Curse of the Black Pearl the best. At Worlds End ranks a semi-close second, while Dead Man's Chest is a distant third.

Next up on the list: Ocean's 13.
