Kick Awesome Acronyms

Ok, I was a little harsh on FTW in the last post, but for good reason. There are lots of better acronyms out there for us to use. Hell, some of them have been around for years!

(Note, most of these can be said aloud as well as typed...even though some may only make sense to my fellow dorks/geeks/nerds.)

-LOL: "Laughing Out Loud" - My friends and I pronounce this as "Lawl". It's a bit of a recent member to the acronym family, but it's still awesome.

-BAMF: "Bad Ass MotherFucker" - I love this one because I pretty much am a BAMF. Other BAMFs would be Samuel L. Jackson, Steven Hawking, and Jake King.

-SANFU: "Situation Normal: All Fucked Up" - This is one from the military that somehow found its way into our lexicon. I'm sure we've all been around SNAFU's before. I don't use this very much though... I prefer the synonym "Clusterfuck".

-FUBAR: "Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition" - Another military acronym that probably doesn't get used much these days except by old, grizzled war vets. Those guys are still awesome though.

-WTF: "What the Fuck" - Just in case we don't want to curse, or just feel the need to use five syllables instead of three, this acronym comes in handy in tons of different ways. Of course, you usually always use it when something makes absolutely no sense... like this journal entry. WTF?

-OMG or OMFG: "Oh My (Fucking) God" - This is merely a replacement for WTF but I've not heard it used as much away from the keyboard.

-BRB: "Be Right Back" - I'll admit, as stupid as it seems, I've said this one several times in my life. Every time it happens I feel like slapping myself in the face. stupid internet slang...

-ASAP: "As Soon As Possible" - You need someone to get something done quick? Well then nothing says "Hurry the fuck up you jackass" then an acronym!


Ok, I'm running out of witty things to say about these, so here's the rest of my list.

-PWNDED (not really an acronym but I think it's still cool)
-STFU
-BYOB (HOORAY BEER!)
