I was able to wake up on Saturday with a slightly less-crazy headache. Unfortunately, I woke up around 9:45 which put a kibosh on the original plan of going to the Science and Industry Museum before the second trip up north. I was only slightly disappointed but realized that a trip to that museum is more of a full day thing.
I was able to convince the Dad unit that we should hitch a ride to Wrigley earlier that day in order to beat the crowd and get lunch before the game. He complied and we got up to Wrigley with tons of time to spare.
We ate at Goose Island again for lunch, but were slightly less-impressed with both the food and the service. (However, the fried onion slices we got both times were really good.)
Our seats for game 2 were a bit better. Further down towards the field along the right field line behind the visitors (sans nappy) dugout but thankfully not in the sun (where I would've died of probably crazy sunburns).
The Cubs kicked even more ass on Saturday. They ended their Home Run drought thanks to Alfonso Soriano, winning 9-3 all told. Hopefully they can pull off the sweep and keep the streak alive through the month. (It also would help if the Brewers lose a couple)
The best thing about Wrigleyville is the instant camaraderie you get when all those fans are in one place. The second best thing is the seventh-inning stretch where you get to honor the late, great Harry Caray by singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Jim Belushi lead the song on Friday and Ron Santo (former Cubs third baseman) on Saturday. If I could pick my favorite part of the Wrigley experience it would be that sing-a-long.
We checked out the sports apparel place across from the field and bought some baby clothes for my soon-to-be born neice. She'll no doubt be a Cubs fan if me and my Dad have anything to say about it.
After that we went back to Murphy's for a few beers and then headed back downtown. My Dad was kinda up for hitting the bar scence, but I talked him out of it. No offense to him, but if I'm gonna go to bars I'd rather go with my friends. I just get kinda uncomfortable when my Dad starts commenting on the various good looking females when we go out like that.
So instead we went to dinner at a place called the Elephant and Castle. It was this sorta English Pub and Resturant deal where we had a light dinner. The weird thing was that the printer at the bar where drink orders come up reminded me of the printer in the kitchen back at Beefs. Whether that's just a coincidence or an omen is yet to be determined.
This morning we had a fairly uneventful journey back to Indy.
After all that happened this trip, I can't wait to go back to Chicago. Hopefully my brother will be able to go (and maybe a girlfriend for Nate-O). All I know is that (as long as the Cubs win) it will be a great trip, and maybe greater.
Next Time: The highlights of my meeting with Captain Braceface. (Pray that I don't punch him in the mouth)

P.S. Sorry Brianne, I can't make it up to help you move into your apartment. I hope everything goes smooth though.
