Prepping for the Party

As much as I hate to clean, I figure it's a necessary evil for my party on Thursday night. I wouldn't want people coming over and thinking I'm a slob. (Though, to be honest, I might indeed be a low-grade slob.)

I decided to break my cleaning into 4 phases over the week, so as not to over-do it AND still have time to goof off before work.

Phase ONE - 1st half of the Living Room and My Bedroom: I decided to get this one done today and I'm 95% done. I put away all my DVD's and video games, cleaned off my various tables and dusted, and am currently in the final stages of putting away my laundry.

Phase TWO - 2nd half of living room and kitchen: My kitchen isn't too bad, but when Brandon moved in, we had an overflow of stuff invade the kitchen area. I'm gonna have to coordinate with him on where everything will go AND make some room in the fridge and freezer so I can fit all the potential booze in there. (However, I might have to break down and buy some disposable coolers and Ice if things don't go well on that front.)

Phase THREE - My Bathroom: I don't want people not wanting to take a piss in my rest room. Nothing makes me feel like more of a slob when someone complains that my bathroom is gross or otherwise unclean. Therefore, I'm saving this for last so it has less time to get dirty again before Thursday night.

Phase FOUR - Game Day Prep: Last minute trash collection, dusting, sweeping, vacuum cleaner (which I need to borrow from Jake and Joey since our vacuum cleaner's belt is failing and I don't want the place to smell like a burning motor), and whatever else needs to be done will get done before my shift at Beefs.

So, it's not insurmountable and I'm spacing it out over four days. Barring the laziness variable, my apartment should look pretty damn good... so people can invariably trash it in the course of one night.

Woot.

PS: I finally bought a new MP3 player for my birthday. I'm excited to be rocking into the 21st century!
