Hey humanoids,
Once again, my laziness has taken over my cognitive functions and I'm not studying for my Art History final exam which takes place in approximately 3 hours. I have like 765 "-ism's" to learn in that span of time and I have a feeling it's going to suck my ass.
So I'm ZBT's new IFC representative. I get to go to a meeting every Thursday and write stuff down. Sounds like fun right? Yeah, that's what I said. Probably going to be as exciting as a snowstorm in Minnesota.
I'm currently listening to "Sunglasses at Night" by Corey Hart. Definitely and under-rated song in any culture. I mean the lyrics are incredible, "You've got it made with the guy in shades." That kind of stuff is reserved for geniuses. But what is really incredible is when you speed the song up 2 times. Excellent techno beat my friends. It's even better at 3 times speed.
That's always been a dream of mine, have a radio show and play everything faster than normal. I'd get multiple death threats I'm sure, but it'd be worth it. You can't complain until you've heard Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" at 2x speed. I wanna get down and funky just thinking about it.
Now I will admit, there are some songs that are horrible at 2x speeds. Here's a list of some of them:
"Get Low" Lil John and the Eastside Boys
"Stairway to Heaven" Led Zeppelin (The first four minutes)
"I Love the Way You Move" Outkast
"Let it Be" The Beatles
"The Sweetness" Jimmy Eat World (thanks Martha!)
"Come on Eileen" Dexy's Midnight Runners
There are many more bad ones. However, I think the good ones override the bad ones. If you've got any good songs that seem better when played at 2x speed, don't hesitate to let me know. nizzledj1 is my AIM name. I'll be sure to add them to my playlist.
(If you don't know how to tell, the latest version of Windows Media Player has this feature. Just play around with it. It's a fun time to kill a half-hour.)
